One Year Later with the PRISM+ Zero Smart Air Conditioner: Still Cool, Still Smart

It’s been over a year since I first installed the PRISM+ Zero Smart Air Conditioner. When I wrote my initial review, I had high hopes for what it could offer—affordable pricing, energy efficiency, seamless smart controls, and an 8-year warranty that no other brand could match.

Now, after living with the system for more than a year, it’s time to revisit my experience as a long-term user.

Installation That Still Holds Up

Let’s start where the journey began—the installation. My previous system was System 5, and the switch to PRISM+’s System 4 was surprisingly smooth.

The team reused my existing piping after thorough pressure testing and swapped out the old units for the new ones without a hitch.

The team also managed to cover up a section of my wall that no longer needed a unit. Once they were done (and with a coat of paint) you can’t tell if there was ever a unit there (check out the review video).

Fast-forward 1.5 years, and the quality of that installation still holds up beautifully. There were no leaks, no unexpected rattling, and no cosmetic issues where the units were installed.

It’s one of those rare cases where the quality not only impressed on day one but continues to impress more than a year later.

Smart App Convenience: A True Game-Changer

I’ve come to rely heavily on the PRISM+ Connect app, and it’s been nothing short of a lifesaver. Whether I’m turning the aircon off after forgetting to do so before leaving home or cooling the house before I return, the app makes it effortless.

The ability to remotely control my air conditioner is hands down my favourite feature.

Coming home to a comfortably cool room after a long day is one of life’s simple pleasures, and knowing I can control my devices from anywhere gives me complete peace of mind.

Automating my routines—like ensuring the bedroom air conditioner turns off just after I leave for work—has helped keep my electricity bill in check.

The routines I’ve set up to match my lifestyle have worked flawlessly, and having all my PRISM+ smart devices—including my digital lock and air purifiers—in one app makes the experience even more seamless. It’s smart home control done right.

Quarterly Servicing: Affordable and Worth Every Cent

When I first opted into PRISM+’s quarterly servicing plan, it was mainly for the peace of mind that comes with securing the extended 8-year warranty.

But after a year, I can confidently say that the servicing is top-notch. At just $99 for 4 units per quarter, the technicians thoroughly clean using a special waterjet system, something not every servicing company offers.

The technicians are alsovery neat and efficient. I don’t need to move furniture out of the way or have water pooling around after servicing is done.

What stands out is the absence of unnecessary upselling. Chemical washes are only recommended when absolutely necessary (typically every two years or so) to prevent corrosion and extend the lifespan of the copper coils.

I’ve not needed that particular service as yet.

Clean Air, No Breakdowns, No Hassle

The biggest win is how trouble-free my aircon system has been over the past year. No breakdowns, no refrigerant leaks, and no gas top-ups are needed.

PRISM+ sends timely reminders every quarter to book my servicing appointment, and scheduling is a breeze. The team is professional; they show up on time, clean up thoroughly after servicing, and leave the air conditioner running perfectly.

A Cost-Effective Choice That Paid Off

In my initial review, I shared how my old aircon system—from a leading, well-known brand—ended up costing me almost $6,000 in repairs over seven years.

Comparatively, the PRISM+ Zero has been a far more affordable upfront purchase, and the ongoing costs (with servicing included) have been incredibly reasonable. Most importantly, I haven’t had to spend a cent on repairs so far.

One Year Later

Between the smart features, strong installation quality, and reliable servicing, the system continues to be a smart investment for my home.
