DOTA 2’s The International 2018 – Day 3!

And prepare to say goodbye to two more teams from the Lower Bracket!

[divider]VGJ.Storm v.s. Winstrike[/divider]
VGJ.Storm lost two games to OG in a major upset, dropping to the lower bracket. Despite holding a huge lead in Game 1, critical mistakes meant that the advantage was thrown away. They will try to convince themselves that their group stage performance was no fluke, and attempt a run through the lower bracket.

Winstrike kept the CIS region pride alive, making a comeback against Newbee’s farmed cores in a fantastic match. Offlane player nongrata put in a great performance on unorthodox offlaner Clockwerk, turning many teamfights into Winstrike’s favour. With wind in their sails, the underdogs will look to take down more juggernauts along the way.

VGJ.Storm is definitely the favourites here, and will look to put their troubles in the first series away. Winstrike might take one game off a strong performance from their cores, but should still bow to VGJ.Storm’s superior teamwork. 2-1 to VGJ.Storm.

[divider]Team Secret v.s. Vici Gaming[/divider]
Secret dropped two games to EG, clearly outclassed on many levels. Despite maestro MidOne’s two great performances, it was simply not enough as their Ancient fell twice. If Secret wish to progress further in the tournament, they will look to carry player Ace to play better, so as to alleviate the pressure on their midlaner.

Vici Gaming played their hearts out against their sister team VGJ.Thunder, slowy and methodically building up an advantage before taking the game. Despite a few hiccups along the way, stellar teamfight execution meant that they ended the game rather comfortably.

Look forward to Secret bouncing back against Vici Gaming. Regardless of their inconsistency, expect the fourth place DPC team to come back with a vengeance. 2-0 to Secret.
