Rockstar Games has confirmed that digital pre-loading for Grand Theft Auto VI begins on 10 November, ahead of the game’s release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players planning to download the game before launch should prepare up to 212 GB of available storage, depending on their console.
In Singapore, the two platforms will follow different schedules. PlayStation 5 pre-loading opens at midnight local time on Tuesday, 10 November. Xbox Series X|S pre-loading begins simultaneously worldwide at 8 am Singapore time.
With a download of that size, it is worth checking your console’s available space ahead of time. Pre-loading gives players a chance to get the substantial download out of the way before release, especially those on slower internet connections.
Players who want their consoles to handle the download automatically should also check their settings. Rockstar’s support guide states that PS5 owners need automatic downloads enabled, with their console switched on or in Rest Mode.
Xbox Series X|S owners should enable automatic updates and leave their console on or in Sleep mode. Platform-specific instructions are available through the Rockstar Support pre-load FAQ.
Code-in-box versions for both consoles are expected to be available from retailers beginning 12 November. These editions contain a download code, so buyers should factor in the storage space and download time when planning their return to Vice City.
Ahead of launch, the official GTA VI website offers more ways to explore the game, including the An Extended Look video, in-game radio station previews and singles from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. The Only in Leonida section takes a closer look at Vice City and the surrounding state, while a dedicated section outlines the Ultimate Edition.
Rockstar will also release a free printable cover art poster and map of Leonida on the official website on 19 November. A double-sided physical version will follow shortly after launch through the Rockstar Store, priced at $0.99 on its own or included as a free gift with any purchase.
