DOTA 2’s The International 2018 – Day 5!

And rounding off in the Lower Bracket are:

[divider]Team Liquid v.s. Team Secret[/divider]
Liquid was knocked down a peg by PSG.LGD, getting heavily outdrafted with many of their classic heroes getting countered. Their aura depleted, and egos bruised, Liquid will have to resume their chase for the 2nd Aegis in the lower bracket.

Secret played well against a careening VGJ.Storm, winning the series with a game to spare. A dominating game one with surprise pick Meepo turned into a well fought game two, with VGJ.Storm making mistakes in crucial moments. Securing Top 6 meant that they have secured the highest placing for their organisation ever, but surely they won’t be satisfied now that they so close.

This will be an exciting matchup between the second and fourth teams in the Dota Pro Circuit. It’s hard to look beyond Liquid’s Herculean strength, especially when they were in the exact same scenario last year. 2-1 to Liquid.

[divider]*The WINNER* v.s. Evil Geniuses[/divider]
Whoever wins the previous matchup will look to a showdown with Evil Geniuses. EG played splendidly against VP, outdrafting and outplaying them in two quick games, knocking out one of the tournament favourites in the process. SumaiL had another pair of dominating games, clearly hungry for another championship to add to his collection. With momentum on their side, will they be ready to knock down another tournament favourite?

Honestly? EG has gone from strength to strength this tournament. SumaiL has somehow become even better, fueled by their loss to OG, and the desire to prove that they are the best team in the tournament. 2-1 to EG.
