Following the success of two previous board game Kickstarter campaigns, Hyperlixir returns with a third featuring Mercurial, a card & dice-manipulation game themed on spellcrafting… that met its goal within the first hour.
Set in the otherworldly land of Valanyr, players take on the role of mages seeking a better fortune in this new frontier. The land of Valanyr was once decimated by an ancient cataclysm, causing its aether to be rendered fertile but mercurial.
The usually separate elements of nature fuse readily, allowing for new and unknown spells to be created, and new heroic deeds to be performed.
Designed as a medium-light weight game for 1-4 players with a focus on card drafting, combo and engine-building mechanics, Mercurial caters to both casual and hobbyist players with its intuitive and easy-to-learn gameplay, while offering a satisfying experience with surprising strategic and tactical depth with both solo and competitive play modes available.

Players will aim to exert control over chaos with elemental dice as they craft new spells, explore unknown magicks, and perform heroic deeds.
Combined spells can either inflict ruin, restore life, or something more — use them to perform heroic deeds, ranging from helping your allies defeat dangerous beasts, to finding a path for stranded travelers lost in the strange land of Valanyr.

Mercurial’s beautiful art, directed and conceptualized by David Goh and created by a team of talented illustrators from Southeast Asia, richly expresses themes of high fantasy and spellcrafting and is sure to appeal to fans of fantasy mythologies.
Mercurial will launch with all art, design & gameplay for the base game completed.

The Kickstarter campaign will feature the standard edition of Mercurial at SGD$60/USD$44, a deluxe edition at SGD$72/USD$53 containing Kickstarter-exclusive upgrades and an automa expansion, and an all-in pledge tier that includes the deluxe edition with premium add-ons such as a supersized playmat and 4 foil-stamped foldable dice trays.
Running a 28-day campaign starting from March 22, 2022, the Kickstarter for Mercurial aimed to surpass its goal of SGD$24’750 by April 19, 2022… but managed to do so in just 43 minutes!

All returning backers who supported the previous campaign of Endogenesis: Beyond will also receive a free pack of clear tarot card sleeves when they pledge for a copy of Mercurial.
Also available as an add-on that costs SGD$12, is a pack of tarot card sleeves contains enough to sleeve every card in Mercurial.
Customs friendly shipping to the US, Canada, EU, UK, Australia and China will be offered, with shipping charges and taxes (as applicable) being charged through a pledge manager after the campaign ends.
First impressions
Upon testing an early build, we were very impressed and can’t wait to see the completed product.
Master the elements, or delve into the void, more than a dice-drafting game, Mercurial’s tight mechanics, rich narrative and beautiful art immerse you into the mystical land of Valanyr.
Mercurial’s potential is much like its own gameplay – ready to combine and blend across different mediums. We’re counting on an animated series in the future. #justsaying
