TCG Card Shop Simulator Levels Up with Tournament Mode Ahead of 1.0 Launch

The hustle of running your own card shop is about to get a serious upgrade. TCG Card Shop Simulator, the viral indie hit that has quietly pulled in over 3 million players since its Early Access launch, is rolling out a major Tournament Update on 19 March across Steam, Xbox Game Preview, and Xbox Game Pass.

What started as a satisfying loop of cracking open booster packs and managing shelves has now evolved into something far more dynamic.

With tournaments entering the mix, your once-humble shop transforms into a competitive arena where NPC customers battle it out for glory, prizes, and bragging rights.

The new update introduces a surprisingly deep tournament system that gives players full control over how events are run. It begins with purchasing a Tournament Prize Shelf from the in-game store, which acts as the centrepiece of your competitive setup.

From there, everything is managed through a new Tournament app on your in-game phone, allowing you to customise the entire experience from start to finish.

You decide how big the event gets, whether it is a cosy eight-player gathering or a full 32-player showdown. Entry fees can be tuned to suit your playstyle, letting you build a friendly community event or a high-stakes competition that draws serious contenders.

Even the play tables can be assigned manually or automatically, depending on how hands-on you want to be as the organiser.

The real hook, however, lies in the prizes. Players can stock their Tournament Prize Shelf with actual items from their own inventory, turning your shop’s stock into tangible rewards for top finishers.

First place, second place, third place, and even Top 8 participants all have something to fight for, and the visibility of these prizes directly impacts how quickly your tournament fills up.

Once registration closes, the magic unfolds on its own. NPC players take their seats, compete through multiple rounds, and eventually crown a winner who poses proudly in front of your prize display.

It is a clever system that adds a layer of spectacle and payoff to the management loop, reinforcing the feeling that your shop is becoming a true community hub.

Importantly, this is not a multiplayer update. The tournaments are entirely driven by NPC interactions, which keeps the experience consistent with the game’s single-player management focus while still introducing a sense of competition and progression.

Alongside tournaments, the update also introduces a Camera mode that lets players capture key moments in their shop’s journey.

Whether it is a championship win, a perfectly curated prize shelf, or just the steady growth of your business, snapshots can be saved into an in-game gallery to document your rise as a card shop owner.

The timing of this update is no coincidence. With a full 1.0 launch on the horizon, the Tournament Update signals that TCG Card Shop Simulator is entering its next phase.

To mark the occasion, the game will also be discounted to $10.39 during the Steam Spring Sale from 19 to 26 March, making it an easy entry point for anyone curious about the hype.

For a game built on the simple joy of opening packs and building a business, this update adds exactly what it needed. A sense of community, competition, and spectacle that turns your shop into more than just a retail space. It becomes a destination.
