Mark 2021 As A Marvel-ous Year

This may have been the least active year for Marvel since 2009, but 2021 looks to be MASSIVE!

Ms. Marvel

Continuing the trend of new characters in the forefront of the future slate of Marvel, Kamala Khan is just about to rip through the screens on Disney+!

Arguably one of the most popular new characters, Ms. Marvel has captured the attention of audience old and new.

The character will not only anchor her own series on Disney+, but will also be a key character in Captain Marvel 2, appearing with Brie Larson and WandaVision‘s Teyonah Parris who will be playing Monica Rambeau.

The Marvel Studios original series centers on fan-favorite Kamala Khan — a 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City. A great student, avid gamer, and voracious fan-fic scribe, Kamala has a special affinity for superheroes, particularly Captain Marvel.

Loki

But not all news is, well, new. In addition to WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the returning old guard of the MCU will include Loki!

There are not many characters for whom the phrase “fan favourite” could be considered an understatement, and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is pretty much the epitome of the sentiment.

She-Hulk and Hawkeye

Now, those’re two different shows (though, in the MCU, anything goes) but with a pretty strong common factor. Ushering in the new age age of MCU heroes will be Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk.

Hawkeye will follow both Clint Barton and his protege Kate Bishop played by Hailee Steinfeld on their adventures as they hit the streets to fight crime.

Similarly, She-Hulk will see Bruce Banner alongside his cousin Jennifer Walters as she embarks on her her journey towards enforcing justice beyond being a lawyer. Also returning will be Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/ the Abomination, resuming his role from the 2008 film, The Incredible Hulk.

This makes Roth only the second actor to reprise his role from The Incredible Hulk following Ed Norton’s falling out with Marvel Studios. The first, of course, was William Hurt as General Thaddeus Ross.
