BBC Player has launched in Singapore, making the country the first in the world to enjoy the new authenticated multi-genre SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) service. Available online and as an app for smartphones and tablets, BBC Player allows users to stream and download content from six BBC global brands – BBC Earth, BBC First, BBC Lifestyle, CBeebies, BBC World News and the new BBC Brit – to watch offline for up to 30 days.
Making its debut in Asia through BBC Player, BBC Brit offers premium factual entertainment that is intelligent but irreverent, blending expertise with entertainment and fact with fun. BBC Player users will have exclusive access to the brand, which features the latest series of Top Gear as well as Hoff the Record, David Hasselhoff’s semi-scripted mockumentary series.
Also available on BBC Player is BBC First, the home of premium and original drama from the BBC and British independent production companies. The channel features unmissable programmes like the award winning Orphan Black (Series 4) and Class, a brand new series from the makers of cult favourite Doctor Who.
