2016 At The Movies!

[divider]#01 – Moana[/divider]

I don’t know what it is about Disney/Pixar animations, but they always get to me. Even more so than superhero movies. And while I haven’t particularly felt that way about Frozen and Tangled and some of the other more recent ones, Moana’s themes of the need to seek yourself outward certainly hit a chord in a world where everyone is clamouring for blind introspection and acting like really emo bitches.

In a world filled with posers demanding darkness in lieu of realism, and grit as a substitute for substance, Moana is a bright, vivid reminder that true strength of personality lies in the journey towards being the best you can be.

Hijanah: Beyond its marvellous visuals and spirit-lifting music, Moana is really a simple narrative packaged into a heartwarming lesson on self-realisation and conquering inner demons – nirvana for all ages.
