Star Wars has entertained and inspired generations of fans for the last three decades. In turn, fans have used their love of a galaxy far, far away to bring happiness to others around the world through charity work. Now, Star Wars: Force for Change is inspired by those fans.
Star Wars: Force for Change, a charitable initiative from Lucasfilm and Disney, harnesses the strength of Star Wars and its global fandom to inspire people to make a positive impact on the world around them. As a new era of amazing Star Wars stories begins, Force for Change aims to continue this humanitarian vision through awareness, recognition, and meaningful partnerships.
Force for Change has launched a campaign leading to May 4th in the spirit of giving back to fans and the charities. Over the course of the 4 weeks, fans will be able to donate through CrowdRise.com to a list of 4 charities including new incentives to participate each week. And Force forChange will match all funds raised up to one million dollars!
The participating charities include UNICEF Kid Power, American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Club and Make-A-Wish. If you wish to participate, go to Crowdrise.com/ForceforChange and for every dollar you donate to your charity of choice (based on a pre-selected list), Star Wars will match that dollar (up to $1M) and you will be entered to win awesome Star Wars prizes such as an all-expense paid trip to Ireland, including Skellig Island where the final scene of The Force Awakens was filmed.
