The Prism+ PG27X Pro offers premium gaming features like a 240Hz refresh rate and QD Mini-LED tech at an affordable price. However, a few compromises are made to stay budget-friendly.

The 27-inch QD Mini-LED panel runs at a crisp 2,560 x 1,440 resolution and supports a blazing 240Hz refresh rate with a 1ms GTG response. In fast-paced games like Call of Duty or Valorant, the panel keeps up, showing sharp details and smooth motion with minimal blur. Backed by AMD FreeSync Premium and ClearMR 5000 certification, it stays tear-free and responsive.

QD Mini-LED is a display technology that combines Quantum Dot enhancement with Mini-LED backlighting. The result is a screen that delivers vibrant colours, deeper blacks, and higher peak brightness, offering a noticeable improvement in visual quality, especially for games and movies.

For gamers looking to push high frame rates and enjoy vivid visuals without blowing the budget, the Prism+ PG27X Pro makes a compelling case. As one of the brand’s first forays into Mini-LED displays, it brings noticeable improvements in contrast and brightness control compared to conventional LED panels, thanks to its local dimming zones.

The monitor performs well visually. Its brightness peaks at 1,000 nits, more than enough for gaming and daytime use. Colours pop, and blacks are deeper than most standard LED displays. The matte finish controls reflections.

The Fast IPS panel and wide colour gamut help maintain consistent image quality across different angles, making it suitable for more than gaming, creative tasks, and video streaming. Thanks to the Mini-LED backlighting, movies, in particular, look vibrant with strong contrast and detail.

While it doesn’t match the deep blacks of an OLED, the PG27X Pro still offers a noticeable upgrade in display quality, especially at S$449, which is about half the price of comparable OLED models.

Design-wise, the PG27X Pro plays it safe. It’s bulky, and its plastic chassis doesn’t feel particularly refined. The LED strips on the back are there more for looks than function.

The stand is ergonomic and supports height, tilt, swivel, and portrait mode. It has a standard VESA mount and a cable management slot, but no built-in speakers—understandable at this price point.

While the square base takes up quite a bit of space, the flat, stable surface gives me a convenient spot to corral loose items like external drives and accessories that tend to clutter my desk.

Overall, the setup is very intuitive. It is literally a snap (and a twist), and you’ll be done in 5 minutes.

The PG27X Pro shows its budget roots is in connectivity. You get two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone jack — and that’s it. It provides just enough to get you up and running but that’s about it.

Still, for S$459, the PRISM+ PG27X Pro delivers what matters most: a fast, vibrant, and fluid gaming experience in 1440p. It’s not the flashiest monitor on the block — instead, it focuses on performance where it counts. For gamers on a budget who don’t need all the extras, it’s an easy recommendation.
