Singapore’s largest showcase of pop culture-inspired art, illustration, and independent creators, Doujin Market (Doujima), marks a significant milestone this year—its 10th anniversary.
Scheduled for May 11-12 at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, this year’s event promises an unparalleled celebration of creativity with over 600 artists from 15 countries participating.
Doujima has grown exponentially over the last decade, becoming a key platform for artists and creators to showcase their talents. This year, the event spans three halls and features a mix of familiar highlights and exciting new additions.
“We’ve taken the best parts of what made us Singapore’s premier pop culture creators convention over the years, and dialed it up to 11,” said Jason Koh, founder and producer of Doujin Market.
“We aim to continue providing creators in Singapore and the region with an affordable, accessible, and visible platform.”
This edition introduces several new experiences:
Indie Games Zone: In partnership with the Singapore Games Association (SGGA), this zone will highlight nine titles, including local creations like *Harpy Raiders* and *Meow Meow Wizard Arena*. Taiwanese studio CreSpirit will also present their game, TEVI.
Comic Toranoana’s Debut: A first in Singapore, this renowned Japanese doujin store will showcase a selection of products and introduce their Fantia web portal for creators.
Portfolio Reviews: Making a return this year, these sessions will feature prominent artists like Sean Lam of the *Geungsi* graphic novel and Magic: The Gathering artists Darren Tan and Julian Kok.
Apart from the visual arts, Doujima offers plenty of interactive opportunities:
Tabletop Playspace: Visitors can dive into the world of Dungeons & Dragons, learn miniature painting, and try out new board games from Origame.
Visitor Survey: Attendees can help shape the future of Doujin Market by participating in a visitor survey. The first 50 participants each day will receive a goodie bag.
As always, Doujin Market will feature exclusive convention-only deals and merchandise. This year, attendees can take advantage of special discount coupons from newnew, redeemable at the in-hall convention concierge.
