Omnidesk has launched a series of ultra-premium Solid Wood Live Edge height-adjustable desks – the Omnidesk Ichi (One) collection which consists of the Omnidesk Amé(雨) and Omnidesk Kawa (川).

A natural evolution of the company’s premium Omnidesk Pro 2020 Wildwood Collection, the company’s flagship electric standing desk series, the Omnidesk Ichi (One) collection offers a duo of ultra-premium Live Wood Desk models that pays homage to mother nature.

“It has been a couple of years since we pushed the concept of height-adjustable desks into the Singaporean Zeitgeist, it is finally time to push the envelope once again with a collection that would push the Omnidesk brand into the stratosphere,” said Benjamin Huang, Omnidesk’s Managing Director.

“The Omnidesk Ichi (One) is a natural evolution of our Wildwood collection, the Omnidesk Ichi (One) embraces the stoic monolith of mother nature and distils it into a single desk that will elevate your space.”

The OMNIDESK PRO 2020 – The Ichi (One) Collection

Ichi represents One or singularity in Japanese. A perfect representation of the latest collection by Omnidesk. A natural evolution of its Wildwood collection, the Omnidesk Ichi (One) embraces the spirit of mother nature and aims to distils it into a single desk that elevates your space.

From employing a cutting-edge vacuum desiccation process to the meticulous finishing touches by a single master artisan, each step is curated to preserve the natural beauty of the wood.

Every single desk in the Omnidesk Ichi (One) collection is unique by virtue of its naturally occurring shape and pattern which are preserved by the team of artisans and curators at every step, making each desk truly one-of-a-kind.

The Omnidesk Amé(雨)

From the sweltering jungles of South America, Rain Trees stand tall and indomitable against torrential rainstorms, tropical heat and everything Amazonia could muster.

Visually, Rain Tree timbers possess a beautifully warm golden sapwood reminiscent of the Sun on its outer section while gently juxtaposed by a rich dark heartwood at its very centre. Through careful preservation and treatment of the timber during production, we are able to memorialise its natural tenacity and resistance against water, fungus, bacteria and even mould.

Each desk is unique by virtue of its naturally occurring shape and pattern.

After the timber has been harvested, each piece is carefully inspected by a curator for colour, tone and strength. Selected pieces are immediately treated within a day of harvest to preserve their inherent features.

Every single desk is unique by virtue of its naturally occurring shape and pattern resulting in every desk existing in singularity, perfectly preserved in the eternity of its existence. From its shape to shade, no two desks would ever look the same.

The Omnidesk Amé is available in 48”, 60” and 72” and would be available at an exclusive launch price of $1650, $1800 and $1950 respectively.

The Omnidesk Kawa (川)

Famed for its strength, durability, and elemental resistance, Teak has played a major role in naval history. Commonly found thriving in the oppressive humidity of Indonesia, Teak trees are characterized by their thick trunk and a wide-spreading crown.

Teak timbers are known for their rich dark heartwood with some variations of honey-golden and even buttery tones of wheat and amber in their outer sapwood.

Unlike Rain Tree timbers, Teak timbers possess relatively straight and uniform grain structures with occasional pliant streaks to break up the monotony. Through careful preservation and treatment of the timber during production, by employing a vacuum desiccation process followed by a tempering Kiln treatment, each timber is effectively frozen in time for decades to come.

Lucite is poured into the main crevasse, creating a beautiful “River”.

Lucite, a transparent thermoplastic often used as a lightweight and shatter-resistant alternative to glass, is then poured into the main crevasse, creating the “River” in its namesake – in a single continuous pour creating a truly unique and beautiful effect.

The pieces are then passed on to a team of artisans to trim off the excess and then passed to a master Lucite artisan whose singular task is the creation and curation of the Lucite river.

Every single desk is unique by virtue of its naturally occurring shape and pattern resulting in every desk existing in singularity, perfectly preserved in the eternity of its existence. From its shape to shade, no two desks would ever look the same.

The Omnidesk Kawa is available in 48”, 60” and 72” and would be available at an exclusive launch price of $2200, $2550 and $2900 respectively.
