So, comics have been put on hold, movies have been postponed, and you’re still at home. And now they’ve take away bubble tea, too.

If you’re especially keen on some entertainment, here are some Singaporean Kickstarter projects you could back from home!

Chinatown Detective Agency

From the creators of Terroir, General Interactive Co. is now on Kickstarter with their second and very much funded video game, Chinatown Detective Agency.

Set in a seedy futuristic Singapore, Chinatown Detective Agency is an interactive cybernoir adventure game for the PC that takes much of its inspiration from the classic Carmen San-Diego Games.

Backing the game on Kickstarter now will not only give you various extra goodies depending on your pledge tier, but it also brings the game closer to unlocking more stretch goals which includes a Nintendo Switch port!

But you gotta hurry on this ’cause it ends tomorrow (Tuesday, 28 April 2020) at 3:00PM.

After Life: A Dystopian Short Film

After Life: A Dystopian Short Film is an independent short film that questions the basis of a good person while dealing with religious and philosophical issues. The film tells the story of a state that controls your afterlife and follows a father who finds out his dead son has plans against the state regarding his own afterlife.

Supporting this project would mean helping young filmmakers in a very competitive and difficult to succeed in industry. The money raised during this Kickstarter will mainly go to the crew as it has already been filmed and is in post-production as of now.

Ankh: Gods of Egypt

The final instalment in the Eric M. Lang’s strategic board game trilogy for CMON, Ankh: Gods of Egypt is a competitive board game for 2-5 players who assume control of ancient Egyptian gods aiming to be the only god left standing.

Ankh boasts the CMON staple of highly detailed miniatures and a plethora of stretch goals, making it worthwhile to back now to get those Kickstarter exclusives rather than the plain retail version.

And don’t let the campaign location fool you, CMON is not only a Singapore-based company but also operates its own retail store here in Singapore.

The AP-2K Project

AP-2K is a character created by The Terror Troopers that pays homage to all the sneaker heads out there and takes inspiration by Japanese street couture. It caters to collectors of cool designer toys that have an amazing narrative.

This Kickstarter project will feature a collaboration with The Terror Troopers and Wetworks to produce a 3-dimensional art toy made with vinyl that is sure be a cool piece in anyone’s collection.

Flagrant Agenda’s fifth playing card offering on Kickstarter, Edo Karuta is a limited-edition collaboration with United States Playing Card Company who produces Bicycle Playing cards.

The cards themselves are divided into different decks such as the damiyo, shogun, basic sets etc. each of which sport very beautifully designed edo period cards that are sure to catch anyone’s eye.

You could choose to pledge for just a basic set or even collect all the sets with duplicates if you want to!

BOY: A Climate Change Story Animated Short Film

MikaToons Animation Studios first Kickstarter Project, BOY: A Climate Change Story Animated Short Film aims to educate people about the effects of climate change and what exactly is happening to our planet at this very moment.

The story follows the soul of boy who is allowed to roam a human extinct earth called Gaya, to try to convince at least one animal to allow humans to populate the earth once again. Backers of the project will receive exclusive merchandise depending on their pledge level.
