Sennheiser is introducing two new additions to its AMBEO Soundbar series: the AMBEO Soundbar Plus and the AMBEO Sub, which aim to provide home users with immersive sound experiences.
The AMBEO Soundbar Plus, noted as the world’s first standalone 7.1.4 soundbar, places the user in the center of the audio. It is more compact than the larger AMBEO Soundbar Max, formerly known as the AMBEO Soundbar.
The AMBEO Sub supplements the cinematic experience and is also suitable for music listening.
Maximillian Voigt, Sennheiser Product Manager for AMBEO Soundbars, stated, “The AMBEO Soundbar Plus and AMBEO Sub continue the legacy of the AMBEO Soundbar Max. Our new AMBEO Soundbar Plus, with its immersive sound and compact housing, offers additional options for home theater enthusiasts.”
The AMBEO Soundbar Plus offers an enhanced audio experience. Operating on the AMBEO|OS platform, it enables streaming from services such as Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect, and is compatible with Google Assistant-enabled devices with Chromecast built-in. It also integrates with Alexa Built-in and Apple Siri.
The AMBEO Soundbar Plus utilizes 3D sound technology, developed in partnership with the Fraunhofer-Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS. This, combined with self-calibration capabilities, allows the soundbar to adjust to a room’s acoustic properties, projecting a virtual eleven-speaker system around the user.
The AMBEO Sub delivers deep bass, equipped with an 8” proprietary woofer and a 350W Class-D amplifier.
The closed-enclosure design of the AMBEO Sub allows up to four subwoofers to be connected for scalable bass performance. It also offers wireless connectivity for simpler setup.
The AMBEO Soundbar Plus and AMBEO Sub will be available from May 5, 2023, at authorised Sennheiser Consumer Hearing webstores and selected authorised retailers. The AMBEO Soundbar Plus is priced at SGD2,299, and the AMBEO Sub is priced at SGD1,099. A bundle package for both products is available at SGD3,098.
