Singapore-based indie game studio kopiforge has announced SEDAP!, a vibrant new cooking-combat adventure game that celebrates the flavours and cultures of Southeast Asia.
Set on the mysterious Khaya Island, SEDAP! invites players to embark on a culinary journey where exploration, teamwork, and cooking come together in a fantastical reimagining of the region. Players can take on the adventure solo or with a friend via local co-op, managing both kitchen chaos and wild encounters as they work together to serve up a feast of beloved Southeast Asian dishes.
The game features two main characters — Som, the Cooker, and Gon, the Hunter — each with unique abilities that complement one another. Som focuses on preparing and plating dishes, while Gon hunts and gathers essential ingredients, battling creatures and hazards along the way. Cooperation is key as players strive to keep their businesses thriving in the face of adversity.
SEDAP! showcases a world inspired by the diverse environments and culinary traditions of Southeast Asia, featuring distinct biomes, regional dishes, and dynamic wildlife. Players will explore, hunt, and cook their way across Khaya Island, filling out the legendary Makanomicon —a recipe book of iconic regional delicacies, including pineapple fried rice, chicken rice, banh mi, and bubble tea.
In addition to its distinctive gameplay, players can upgrade equipment and utensils, adding depth and progression to their culinary quests. The game’s bold visual style, rooted in Southeast Asian aesthetics, reflects kopiforge’s mission to craft meaningful and joyful experiences inspired by regional identity.
Founded in December 2023, kopiforge is a Singapore-based indie studio dedicated to creating handcrafted games with strong themes and impactful visuals. The studio’s vision is to inspire joy and thoughtfulness through its work while maintaining an open and inclusive environment that empowers creativity.
Since its debut, SEDAP! has already garnered international recognition, winning the Best Student Game Award at the LEVEL UP KL SEA Game Awards 2023 and the Best New Game Award at the BIG Festival @ gamescom latam 2024. It has also been nominated across several major categories, including Best Multiplayer Game, Best Diversity Game, and BIG Impact: Best New Game.
SEDAP! is now available for Windows PC (Steam/Xbox) in Q2 2025, followed by console releases on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation in Q3 2025.
