Thanks to Singaporean artist Kang Jing of Chiral Comics, not only is the Riverdale gang stopping over to for a quick hang at Gardens by the Bay, but we also have the rare opportunity to capture it all with an exclusive variant cover.
Archie Comics’ summer special issue, Betty & Veronica: Summer Fun in the Sun #1, sees ol’ Archie Andrews winning free tickets to the newest attraction in Riverdale: a brand new waterpark! He wants the whole gang to join, but someone like Veronica Lodge just doesn’t do poolside parties… unless she can make a splash!
Written and illustrated by Holly G, this anchor tale is accompanied by a host of other stories featuring over 10 artists, and other fan favourite characters.
And, for those of us celebrating Singapore’s upcoming milestone National Day, this issue of Betty & Veronica holds the distinction of featuring an SG60 variant cover by Singaporean artist Chiew Kang Jing (a.k.a. KJ), best known for his original graphic novels The World, My Arena, and Zhao!
This special cover is limited to 300 copies and can be ordered online via the Chiral Comics website, or through local comic store partners such as Kalibak Komiks.
Collectors can also get their hands on some of KJ’s previous exclusives (subject to availability) through the listed channels. These include a series variant covers of BOOM! Studios’ Power Ranger titles, as well as Dynamite Entertainment’s Green Hornet/Miss Fury.
