Samsung has announced the latest addition to its monitor series, the 27-inch ViewFinity S9 (S90PC model).
This launch further solidifies Samsung’s position in the high-resolution monitor market, following the success of the ViewFinity S8 (S80PB model) introduced in June 2022, which boasted an Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution.
Recognized as a CES Innovation Award honoree in 2023, the new ViewFinity S9 is tailored to meet the precise needs of industries like graphic design and photography.

Featuring a 5K resolution (5,120 x 2,880) on its 27″ screen, the ViewFinity S9 offers over 50% more workspace compared to other UHD monitors.
It allows professionals to immerse themselves in ultra-high resolution content without constant zooming, providing a full 5K view alongside their essential editing tools.
The monitor stands out with its 99% DCI-P3 and 218 PPI, ensuring saturated colors and sharp details, essential for those prioritizing visual accuracy.
It also offers a brightness of 600 cd/m2, suitable for various lighting conditions. Notably, the monitor is factory calibrated to achieve a Delta E <21 accuracy, ensuring precise color straight out of the box.
A groundbreaking feature of the ViewFinity S9 is its industry-first Smart Calibration, controlled via smartphones. Using the SmartThings app, users can effortlessly adjust the screen settings, streamlining the calibration process without the need for specialized equipment.
For user comfort, the monitor incorporates TUV-certified Intelligent Eye Care features, reducing eye fatigue. Additionally, the Matte Display minimizes light reflections, promoting a focused working environment.
On the connectivity front, the ViewFinity S9 is compatible with both Mac and Windows PCs, supporting Thunderbolt 4, mini DisplayPort, and USB-C.
The Thunderbolt 4 feature allows 90W device charging and boasts data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps.
The built-in 4K SlimFit camera enhances video call clarity, and its Auto Framing feature adjusts to users’ movements. Its slim metal design ensures versatility in various spaces, and VESA mount compatibility keeps workspaces organized.
The monitor also doubles as an entertainment centre with embedded Smart TV apps, built-in Adaptive Sound+ speakers, and a remote control.
Availability and Pricing
The ViewFinity S9 is open for preorder from 14 to 27 August 2023, priced at S$2,288 (inclusive of GST). As a bonus, early adopters preordering the monitor will receive a complimentary Portable SSD T7 Shield 4TB in Black (valued at S$488).
Consumers can find the ViewFinity S9 at the Samsung Online Store, the official Samsung Store on platforms like Amazon, Lazada, and Shopee, as well as at major electronics and IT retailers from 28 August 2023 onwards.
