A while ago we reviewed the LUMOS AURO projector, the company’s first device and we were really impressed. Since then LUMOS have added to their lineup. This time we take a look at the LUMOS ATOM home cinema 1080p portable projector.
Weighing in at just 800g, and measuring 10cm x 10cm x 16cm, the LUMOS ATOM doesn’t really take up very much space. Slightly bigger than the size of the average palm it is easy to carry around and place – especially due to its form factor.

I really liked the design of the LUMOS ATOM. It looked like something out of an Apple catalog – a cross between the Apple pro and the Apple Homepod, with its grey metal casing. Aesthetically it is very sleek, modern and functional too.
At the top of the device, the LUMOS ATOM, features touch controls that allow you to easily navigate and control the device if you rather not use the provided remote control.
At the rear, the LUMOS ATOM features one HDMI port, two USB Type-A ports (one with charging capability), a 3.5mm headphone port.
Starting up is very intuitive. Just plug it in and go. The LUMOS ATOM supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, runs on the Android platform with apps like Netflix and YouTube pre-installed. No external device needed.

The LUMOS ATOM is able to projects from 30″ to 300″ at 1080p resolution. While not 4K, the colours are bright (6,000 lumess) and the picture quality is vibrant. we found that the 65″ to 85″ projection size probably hits the sweet spot in terms of clarity, vibrancy and size.
Its auto keystone (vertical) and digital keystone correction (up to +-15 degree vertically and horizontally) was really useful and can be used to configure the projection image to your liking and provides you with several options.
Attach a tripod to its base and you can easily project from various angle to the ceiling. It is extremely flexible and adaptable to most environments.

Much like the full-sized LUMOS ATOM, the audio delivered from the LUMOS ATOM is very impressive and it can easily double up as a Bluetooth speaker and provide quality sound even if you don’t have the intention to project any visuals. It is also compatible with Dolby Audio Surround Sound.
Available at SGD 999, the LUMOS ATOM packs a punch, provides quite the bang for buck and it’s design and size give it great portability.
The LUMOS ATOM is definitely one to consider if you’re in the market for a projector.
