5 things to do on New Year’s Eve to usher in 2014

It’s New Year’s Eve and you still haven’t decided what to do or how to usher in 2014. Here are 5 options you can consider:

1. Siloso Beach Party

The ever popular Siloso beach party at Sentosa always promises to be great fun featuring a line-up of both international and local DJs, this is one place where you can dance, trance and prance from dusk to dawn. Get neon paint on yourself, watch the fireworks display, and keep refueling.

If you’re a lady and don’t want to be squeezed between men… this year gather your girl-friends and head to the No Man’s Land tent. A sanctuary reserved for the ‘fairer sex’ to party the night away.

Party away from 6pm to 6am. Tickets are at $65 at the door.

Visit www.silosobeachparty.com for more details.

2. The Singapore Pub Crawl – New Year’s Eve Special

If you’re not interested in getting wet, and sand is not your thing, head down to the ‘Fat Pigeon Statue’ at UOB Plaza, 80 Raffles place and get ready to pub and club the night away with the Singapore Pub Crawl.

The Pub Crawl brings you great deals from the best pubs and bars in the Boat Quay area and then party your way down to club at Clarke Quay. With great discounts on drinks and free club entry it’s the perfect setting if you’re celebrating with a group of fiends or flying solo. Did I mention that there’s free beer at registration and free shots along the way as well?

Registration begins at 7.30pm and tickets are at only $25 per pax. If you are running late or get turned around, contact Master Crawler, Morgan @ 9640 5611.

3. Helix Bridge and Marina Bay Promenade

Maybe crowds are not your thing and you just want to spend some private time with a loved one. If that’s the case head down to the Helix Bridge at the Marina Bay Sands or the surrounding Promenade area where while there will be no shortage of people and not quite secluded…. you’ll be in the company of other lovebirds and the sort that prefer to party among themselves.

Pick up a bottle of wine or some bubbly and toast to the new year with a great view of the fireworks.

4. The Heartlands – Sengkang, Keat Hong, Sembawang, Nee Soon and Bukit Panjang

Too tired to head down to town? Well then there’s a party close to home… if home is Sengkang, Keat Hong, Sembawang, Nee Soon and Bukit Panjang that is. Heartlanders will get the chance to get together with family and neighbours to usher in 2014 with dazzling pyrotechnics when the clock strikes midnight.

But not just fireworks there’s a whole lot more going on in the Heartland. Boon Lay will play host to 6 ‘Dinosaurs‘ that are sure to entertain children while pony rides will be available near Punggol MRT Station. Residents of Chua Chu Kang can make their New Year resolutions opposite Lot 1 Shopping Complex and Eunos will gather over 1,000 residents to gyrate to the ‘Harlem Shake

5. Home

Finally if none of the other options suit you, why not stay at home? Order in or cook a nice meal. Treat yourself and your family. Maybe watch the countdown on TV as the world starts to look forward to the New Year. Sometimes it’s nice to just take the time to get away from the crowd and have some ‘me time’ or quality ‘family time’.

Which ever option you choose… have a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
