The Phantom of the Opera Returns to Haunt Singapore!

The highly anticipated production graces Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands for a strictly limited season from May 2025.

Returning to Sands Theatre after 5 yearsThe Phantom of the Opera remains a favourite among Singaporeans. With its enchanting story and unforgettable score, this timeless masterpiece resonates deeply with local audiences, promising to captivate them once again.

Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as the Phantom who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerised by the talent and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, the Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine’s love for Raoul, the Phantom’s obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness and passions collide.

This haunting love story stars Jonathan Roxmouth as the Phantom, with Christine played by Grace Roberts. They are joined by a strong cast of 37 performers from all over the world including the United Kingdom, United States of America, South Africa, Australia and other international territories.

Featuring some of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most iconic compositions, including The Music of the Night, All I Ask of You, and The Phantom of the Opera, this production promises to deliver an unforgettable night of world-class entertainment. With elaborate costumes, a mesmerising set, and a hauntingly beautiful score, audiences will be transported to the Paris Opera House, where the mysterious Phantom hides in the shadows, yearning for love and redemption.

The production is directed by Phantom Associate Director Rainer Fried. Kristen Blodgette and Denny Berry are Music Supervisor and Associate Choreographer respectively.

The Phantom of the Opera has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart, and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe. Book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the novel Le Fantôme de l’Opera by Gaston Leroux, with Orchestrations by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

This production is part of the International Tour, which sees the production travel through Asia throughout 2025, bringing this iconic show across the region.
