Magic: The Gathering Standard Showdown Comes To Singapore

Think you have what it takes? Time to get those cards on the table and work on that mana. Wizards of the Coast has been organising The Magic: The Gathering Standard Showdown tournaments worldwide, including Singapore. The tournament will be available at participating stores across the nation over four consecutive Saturdays – 26 November, 3 December, 10 December and 17 December.

As with the name, Standard Showdown tournaments will be played according to the Standard format – a dynamic format where you build decks and play using cards in your collection from recently released Magic sets. Evolving gameplay and fresh strategies make it one of the most fun and popular ways to play Magic.

During the Standard Showdown tournaments, players will get a chance to earn special, three-card booster packs. The three cards in these packs will consist of a premium card and 2 non-premium cards that are either rare or mythic rare from a set currently legal in Standard (Battle for Zendikar through Kaladesh).

Cards from Oath of the Gatewatch will appear only in the premium slot and double-faced cards will not appear in these boosters. There will also be a 1/33 chance of Zendikar Expeditions and Kaladesh Inventions appearing in these special boosters.

There are two ways to get your hands on these limited Standard Showdown booster packs:
1. Earn them during Standard Showdown events at participating store nationwide.
2. Buy a Kaladesh booster box promotion at participating stores nationwide (while stocks last).

With only 2 weeks left to go, save the date and tune that deck.
