ASUS sent us the Zenbook Flip S UX371 powered by the new 11th Gen Intel EVO i7 processor, and it looks beautiful.

The Zenbook Flip S UX371 looks sleek and sophisticated with its Jade Black finish that’s complemented by Red Copper diamond-cut highlights that catch light exquisitely, making it great to look at.

The brushed-aluminium deco bar above the edge-to-edge keyboard adds a subtle finishing touch, creating a luxurious overall look. It also helps that the keys are great to type on and feature white backlighting.

You can capture screengrabs, lock the webcam, or access the MyASUS app via function keys for added convenience. The touchpad is nice and wide and doubles up as the number pad, and responds very well to the touch.

The edge-to-edge keyboard is great to type on and look at as well.

Designed to be used on the go, it is sleek and compact, weighing in at only 1.2 kg and 13.9 mm thin. Perfect for carrying around just about anywhere.

The laptop can also transform and sit in standard laptop mode, tent mode, stand mode and tablet mode giving you even more flexibility on the move.

Work or play in any mode you choose – laptop, tent, stand or tablet.

While we haven’t done a drop test and don’t recommend you to drop your laptop, ASUS stands by the build quality of the Zenbook Flip S UX371 and has put it through the wringer achieving MIL-STD 810G military standard for reliability and durability.

As for inputs, the Zenbook Flip S UX371 features an HDMI port, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port.

The two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports on ZenBook Flip S UX371 provide ultrafast speeds and support USB-C Power Delivery, which allows you to connect to external 4K UHD displays and provide up to 40 Gbps data-transfer speeds for high-performance peripherals such as the latest portable drives such as the WD_Black P50 Game Drive and the Seagate Firecuda Gaming SSD.

While there isn’t a 3.5mm port for headphones, it does come with a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter if you need to plug in your wired headphones.

Under the hood, the Zenbook Flip S UX371 is powered by the new 11th Gen Intel “Tiger Lake” EVO i7 processor. The new Intel EVO platform is engineered specifically to help thin and light laptops get things done.

The laptop also features Intel Iris Xe graphics and up to 16 GB of high-speed RAM in addition to PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD storage that allows for read and write speeds at 3,000 MB/s and 1,700 MB/s, respectively.

Our PCMark 10 benchmark tests saw the Zenbook Flip S UX371 perform well for a laptop used in a modern office environment to view movies and streaming.  However, this is not the laptop you’re looking for if gaming performance is a key consideration. In the graphic above, we’ve compared it with the ASUS Zenbook 14  UM425.

The Zenbook Flip S UX371 features a 4K UHD NanoEdge OLED HDR display, with 3840 x 2160 dimensions, that delivers sharp visuals with vivid colours. The laptop is VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certified for deep blacks and increased dynamic range and provides TÜV Rheinland-certified eye care.

Also provided is the ASUS Pen, an active stylus with a slim and elegant aluminium design that gives it a premium feel. It allows you to draw, write or annotate in any supported app accurately. Windows Ink lets you create sticky notes or capture ideas and details. A really great tool to boost creativity and productivity.

Keeping the Zenbook Flip S UX371 won’t be too much of a problem. It lasted around 8 hours while on max resolution. Its fast-charge technology lets you recharge up to 60% capacity in 49 minutes. It also supports ASUS USB-C Easy Charge, so you can conveniently charge it using a USB-C Power Delivery-certified charger such as an airline charger, a portable charger or a power bank.

With sound by Harman Kardon, you know you’re going to get decent sound. However, I would still connect it to an external audio option to truly enjoy music and movies. However, it does have ASUS AI noise-cancelling technology that’s very helpful for remote work and video conferences.

While it does take away some frequencies and make your voice slightly robotic, it is much better than letting noisy environments bleed into your meeting.

At around SGD 2,500, the Zenbook Flip S UX371’s sleek profile combined with its classy finish makes it a great device to carry around everywhere and get the job done… in style.
