Curated by Lim Cheng Tju, and supported by SooBin Art International and Artblovk Gallery Drawn To Satire: The Cartoons of Morgan Chua chronicles the late Morgan Chua’s works during his time as a political cartoonist in Asia, covering not only his work in the Singapore Herald, but also his time on Hong Kong’s Far Eastern Economic Review Publication.
Known for his tongue in cheek humour and astute, biting cartoons, Morgan’s work reached a wide audience and laid a subtle and lasting influence on the landscape of political cartoons in the region.
Presented at Soo Bin Art International’s Gallery, view Morgan’s paintings for the first time and explore the nuances of his cartoons paired alongside contemporary cartoonists in an on-going dialogue.
Curated by Lim Cheng Tju and featuring artists such as Dengcoy Miel, Sonny Liew, A Good Citizen, Zunar, James Tan and others, enjoy the rich history of the region as presented through the eyes of satire.
