Anno 117: Pax Romana is officially out now, and it is shaping up to be one of the most expansive and personal entries the long-running builder franchise has ever seen.
Released by Ubisoft and developed by Ubisoft Mainz, the game is available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, GeForce Now, Blacknut, and Windows PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect.
Set in the year 117 AD at the height of Roman power, Anno 117: Pax Romana invites players to step into the sandals of a Roman Governor and decide what peace, prosperity, and power truly mean. For the first time in the Anno series, the experience leans heavily into narrative choice.
In Campaign Mode, players select between two protagonists, Marcus or Marcia, each bringing a distinct perspective to leadership in an empire shaped by political pressure, cultural tension, and personal ambition. The decisions you make ripple outward, affecting not just your cities but the lives, beliefs, and loyalties of your citizens.
Sandbox Mode offers a more open-ended approach, allowing players to tailor their builder experience and choose where their rule begins. Latium places you close to the heart of the Empire, surrounded by tradition and expectation, while Albion presents a harsher frontier filled with mystery, local beliefs, and resistance to Roman influence.

Each province features its own culture, deities, and societal needs, forcing players to weigh diplomacy against domination. Peace is an option, but it is never free, and military conflict on land and sea remains firmly on the table.
At its core, Anno 117: Pax Romana continues the series’ trademark blend of deep city building systems and economic management, but with a renewed focus on identity and consequence.
Choosing which gods to honour, how to meet the demands of different populations, and whether to integrate or suppress local traditions all play a role in shaping your version of Roman rule.
The Standard Edition of Anno 117: Pax Romana is available now on PC and consoles, while the Gold Edition includes the base game and the Year 1 Pass. That pass unlocks three major DLC expansions over time, each adding a new layer to the experience.

Players can expect volcanic disasters that reshape Latium, the construction of the series’s most ambitious monument, inspired by the Circus Maximus, and an entirely new desert province where Roman authority clashes with Egyptian tradition.
To complement the launch, the full original soundtrack composed by Dynamedion is also available on major music platforms and YouTube. Performed by a full symphonic orchestra using historically inspired instruments, the score adds cinematic weight and emotional depth to every decision you make as Governor.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is available now. If you have ever wanted to test whether your vision of peace could survive the pressures of empire, this is your moment to rule.
