Thirty years after the original film took the world by storm. With all hopes of a third sequel dashed after the passing of Harold Ramis (who co-wrote and played Dr. Egon Spengler), the Ghostbusters are back and fully rebooted for a new generation.
Sony has just released character posters from the new movie:
When director Paul Feig, first announced that he intended to make an all-female version of the Ghostbusters, the news was met with some skepticism from the fans of the original – me included. If these images are anything to go by, Feig might have pulled it off by combining all the paranormal fighting elements that made the original franchise so beloved with a cast of new characters, played by the funniest actors working today.
This Ghostbusters is not a sequel though, so the original cast don’t (or shouldn’t) exist in this universe. What will exist though will be the Ecto-1, a 1980s Cadillac hearse.
Will the new, re-booted Ghostbusters be able to capture a whole new generation of fans? Well so far, I like what I see. Get ready to watch them save the world summer 2016!
