Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! The Potatoes are back and make a grand return in Space!

From Daylight Studios, the same people that brought you Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?!, the potatoes are now in space. Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! retains elements such as its witty humour and iconic characters from pop culture (or sometimes even real life) and weapon crafting from its predecessor. In addition, the potatoes have specific abilities that better suit them for crafting or weapon handling as well as new elements such as a turn based spaceship battles as you adventure through the stars.

The story follows two main protagonists Cassie and Fay, who are travel through several galaxies, exploring different worlds to save their beloved grandfather from The Eclipse (The bad guys). Throughout your journey, other vegetable like characters will join your crew and help you out along the way.

The game has two difficulties to choose from, one for the casual player who just wants to relax, and another mode for those who want a little more of a challenge where there a time limit is set by a number of sols you can stay in one galaxy.

Keeping to its roots, graphics and gameplay are both pretty simple with point and click options and the occasional RPG elements, like choices to help other spuds, in exchange for more loot. What makes it a bit more refreshing is the battle mode with other ships. The new addition helps make the game feel less like a mindless farming game and more complete… plus, blowing up spaceships is always a blast.

Overall, Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! has a humorous story and pretty intriguing characters. Still is a game for the casual crowd, it can feel pretty repetitive over time. It is however, is a great game to chill, relax and have a bit of a laugh.

Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! is available on Steam.
