Nintendo Announces Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee for the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has finally announced its big 2 main Pokemon titles for the year, Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. It’ll be the second Pokemon related entry and the first RPG title for the Switch.

While not much is known about the game, the trailer does give a rough idea of some of the mechanics we’ll see in-game:

Wild Pokemon Encounters

Unlike other Pokemon RPGs the wild Pokemon encounters do not require the need of a Pokemon battle, instead you just throw your Pokeballs until the Pokemon is caught, much like how catching works in Pokemon GO.

Co-op Mode

There will be an all new Co-op mode where another player can join your game locally and both of you will travel the Pokemon region together as well as fight Pokemon battles and catch Pokemon together.

Poke Ball Plus

The Poke Ball Plus will be another external gadget that you can buy separately and works similarly to the Pokemon GO Plus watch. The Poke Ball plus can be used as a controller which will help to enhance the experience of throwing Poke Balls, it also enables the function of transferring one of your Pokemon to it to ‘walk’ it around which may help to increase its friendship stat or EXP level, i’m guessing this is an improved version of the Pokewalker released during the Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver games for the Nintendo DS many years back.

Connecting with Pokemon GO

Finally! Some other use for the 140+ Kanto Region Pokemon I caught in Pokemon Go, not much about the feature is known, but at least we know the Pokemon from our Pokemon GO accounts can be transferred to the game in the Pokemon GO park and that’s already good enough for me.

There are quite a few other features like dressing up your starter Pokemon or even taking a ride on some of the Bigger Pokemon like Onix and Charizard and if you’re as hyped up as I am why not watch or even re-watch the trailer here:
