UPDATE:
The hit track Guardians Inferno by the intergalactic Sneepers, featuring David Hasselhoff now has a video!
Original Article:
Arguably the most memorable thing about Guardians of the Galaxy, the soundtrack of the first film has kept audience wondering what rock out-worthy numbers would be popping up in the sequel’s Awesome Mix.
It’s been announced, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint:
And because we JustSayers are music geeks as much as we are comic book/movie geeks, here’s a Spotify Playlist of all the tracks:
Obviously, Guardians Inferno by The Sneepers and David Hasselfuckinghoff himself is not yet available.
This original piece was actually co-written by director James Gunn and score composer Tyler Bates, and is meant as a GotG take on Meco’s disco Star Wars theme.
David Hasselhoff was chosen as the vocalist because he’s supposed to be one of Peter Quill’s childhood heroes and, let’s face it, ’cause he’s fuckin’ David Hasselhoff.
Marvel fans would of course remember The Sneepers as an alien civilisation first appearing in Tales of Suspense #49 that once considered invading Earth… until they realised that humanity’s tendency for violence would probably lead us to our destruction anyways, so they figured they’d just standby and wait… smart fellas, those Sneepers.
This would actually be the second time (that we know of) that James Gunn has tried to sneak a reference to the Sneepers into the MCU. The first time was a fair bit more prominent and it got gunned down by Marvel’s legal team because the word “Sneepers” sounds like “snipur” which, in Icelandic, means “clitoris.”
The more you know, huh?
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit screens on the 27th of April and promises to help dry those tears left over from Logan.
