Facebook and WhatsApp Provide Global Support Against COVID-19 Misinformation

Facebook has announced the launch of the WhatsApp Coronavirus Information Hub and the Facebook Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resources.

Both initiatives will serve as hubs for people to find official information and resources from trusted national and global health authorities.

In Singapore, the resources will serve as the central connection point for users to get up-to-date information or guidance on their preferred social platform.

In the Facebook Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resources page, users will find up-to-date information from Singapore’s Ministry of Health, The World Health Organization and UNICEF.

Meanwhile, the WhatsApp Coronavirus Information Hub link assists users with simple, actionable guidance to communicate, ranging from health workers, educators, community leaders, non-profits, local governments to local businesses.

Both tools are part of the effort to mitigate the spread of misinformation since the first outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Facebook users can tap the menu icon the Facebook app, located at the shortcut bar and click on ‘Crisis Response’. You will be able to see a pop-up message about the Coronavirus Information on Facebook.
