Wednesday, the 12th of July marks the opening of Cirque du Soleil‘s latest tour to hit Singapore: Kooza.
Sponsored by M1, the gravity (and sanity) defying stunts and showmanship of Cirque du Soleil have long been a source of wonder and awe of their enamoured audience.

Having been performed more than 3000 times for over 7 million people, Kooza boasts a cast and crew of over twenty nationalities, with communication occurring over five different languages for the team of 110!
A homage and return to the humble origins of Cirque du Soleil, Kooza combines the circus traditions of acrobatic performances and the art of clowning, highlighting the physical demands of human performance in all its splendour and fragility, presented in a colourful mélange that emphasises bold slapstick humour.
“Kooza is about human connection and the world of duality, good and bad,” says Kooza writer and director Davide Shiner. “The tone is fun and funny, light and open. The show doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it’s very much about ideas, too. As it evolves, we are exploring concepts such as fear, identity, recognition and power.”
Extending the magic of the event, are the 500 children from Beyond Social Services, Brahm Centre, the Children-At-Risk-Empowerment Association, and the M1 Students Support Fund, who were given a special look at Kooza ahead of even the show’s premiere.
“This special treat was reserved for students who had made significant progress; it will serve as a positive anchor and reminder that effort and hard work can change their lives for good!”
Cirque du Soleil‘s Kooza is happening now till the 20th of August at the Big Top by Marina Bay Sands!
