CATCHPLAY, A New Video On Demand Service, Launches in Singapore

Movie lovers in Singapore can now access a wide selection of movies and a rich library of information and trivia about their favourite films and movie stars, across multiple devices with CATCHPLAY, a new Video-on-Demand service.

CATCHPLAY has launched its On-Demand service in Singapore, which is available via the new CATCHPLAY application that can be downloaded on all Android and iOS platforms, and its online portal www.catchplay.com/sg

CATCHPLAY subscribers can choose between two membership methods:

Movie Fans: Free membership, requiring no credit card to register, and includes one free movie from a curated selection each month, which is updated weekly. Additional movies can be rented individually (Single Rental) for SGD$3.50, with newer releases priced at SGD$6.00

Movie Lovers: A paid subscription of SGD$14.90 per month, inclusive of unlimited views of CATCHPLAY’S thousands of hours of movie library, in addition to one Single Rental at consumer’s choice every month.

The On-Demand service was launched in Taiwan in March and by June had already rolled out in Indonesia with Telkom Indonesia. The partnership with StarHub Singapore was also announced earlier with CATCHPLAY offering a wide selection of movies for single rentals and a subscription-based service on Starhub TV Channel 610. Plans to roll out in the rest of the region are in the pipeline.

In the recent years, CATCHPLAY further extended its reach upstream into international co-production and investments of films including the mandarin-language film, 20 Once AgainThe Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and three more upcoming Hollywood titles, Assassin’s CreedSplinter Cell and Director Martin Scorsese’s Silence.

To celebrate its Singapore launch, CATCHPLAY is offering Movie Lovers Membership at a special price of $12.90 per month. In addition, CATCHPLAY has a limited time free trial offer- early birds who ‘like’ the CATCHPLAY Singapore Facebook fan page by the end of this week (Sunday 21 August) will be able to use a promotional code upon sign-up and enjoy the first two months of subscription free.
